A Walk in Penn's Bog
Tiadaghton State Forest will host a guided walk through the Algerine Wild Area, home part of a glacial bog that straddles the Lycoming–Tioga county line. This unique ecosystem supports black spruce, balsam fir, and several northern carnivorous plant species. Please be aware that the route will include very wet and unstable terrain. Participants are also asked to wear fluorescent clothing, as the walk will occur during hunting season. Registration is required, and group size is limited to protect the sensitivity of the ecosystem. Walk in Penn’s Woods invites people from across Pennsylvania to explore and learn about the forests that support our well-being. Forests provide recreation, wildlife habitat, natural beauty, cleaner water and air, wood products, carbon storage, and so much more.
