WILD About Bears Educator Workshop
Join PA State Park and Game Commission Educators for a Professional Development workshop focused on bears! This hands-on workshop will introduce you to black bear biology, research trapping efforts, & management practices, as well as resources though Project WILD for your classroom to meet PA STEELS standards. An attempt to trap a live bear will be made to show you how and why bears are trapped and assessed by the Game Commission, while giving you an up-close look at the animal. This workshop is open to classroom teachers and non-formal educators such as pre-service teachers, homeschool parents, naturalists, and scout leaders. Project WILD's K-12 Curriculum & Activity Guide will be provided to all participants. Six (6) Act 48 hours are available to educators holding Pennsylvania public school certifications. Registration is required and space is limited. To register, click the Buy Tickets icon. This workshop does have a $15.00 fee to attend. Payment details will be included in your registration confirmation email.
