Wonders of Wetlands Educator Workshop
Earn 4.5 Act 48 hours while experiencing hands-on activities related to wetlands and water that help develop awareness, investigative skills, curiosity, and environmental knowledge. Participants will receive the K-12 Teacher’s Guide which features over 40 lesson plans AND 64 pages of extensive background information about the history, science, and importance of wetland habitats. This workshop is open to all educators: schoolteachers, naturalists, homeschool parents, scout leaders, and others! In the afternoon, workshop guests will go on a guided bog walk to get firsthand experience with local wetland areas! Bring a brown-bag lunch and dress for outdoor fun. Boots are recommended. Registration is required online to participate, through the DCNR Calendar of Events, by Friday, April 3, 2026. This workshop has a $15.00 fee that is due before the workshop begins, payment instructions will be given in the confirmation email. Teachers who would like to earn Act 48 hours will have to come prepared with their PPID number to sign in. This workshop is for adults, ages 18+, only. Please do not bring pets.
