Family Science Outside: Wonders of Wildflowers brings at-home learners and their grown-ups into the living lab of the great outdoors to investigate spring wildflowers at Jennings. To accommodate in-school and at-home learners, this program will be offered Tuesday – Thursday, May 11-13, 2021 every hour from 9:00AM-1:00PM and also on Sunday, May 16th with time slots available every half hour from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
This experience includes: an in-person or virtual introduction from Jennings staff, including guidance on how to identify and study wildflowers and what to expect during your visit to Jennings; an investigation guide to complete together as a family, containing activities for exploring and studying wildflowers; and all the needed materials to complete your activities, provided upon arrival during your designated slot.
Families/cooperative groups/“pods” (max 12 people/group) register for their own time slot. Time slots will be available every half hour between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The program is free, but pre-registration is required by Friday, May 7. To register or for additional information, go to http://events.dcnr.pa.gov/ or call 724-794-6011. Masks and social distancing are required for all staff and participants during in-person introductions. Virtual introduction can be arranged.Pick up and return of equipment is no-contact outdoors.All materials will be thoroughly sanitized. Everyone should practice thorough and frequent hand washing and sanitizing.We ask participants to stay home if they have been diagnosed with COVID-19, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed or is experiencing symptoms.Anyone entering the building (not required) for any purpose must wear a mask.Waiver and contact info required for participants.
