Title
What's That Nut? (Virtual Program)
Description
The autumn season brings an abundance of hard shelled nuts dropping from overhead tree limbs. Acorns, chestnuts and walnuts are among the native tree nuts of our state. Join a Park Naturalist via Skype for Business for a virtual presentation on tree nuts. We will discuss identification, basic ecology, as well as wildlife and human usage. This program is suitable for ages 7 and up. Participants, especially younger ages, are encouraged to gather their own tree nuts prior to the program for a show-and-tell segment. Registration is required by clicking the green button on this page. Once registered you will be sent a link to join the Skype Program. Programming is subject to modification or cancellation at the discretion of park staff. If you need an accommodation to participate in Park activities due to a disability, please contact Presque Isle State Park at 814-833-7424 to make arrangements for your visit. With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs. Please call the Erie ASL Interpreters’ Office at (814) 806-2511 for more information about this service.
