Description
Join a naturalist at 9 a.m. on select weekdays for hikes of varying length and difficulty. This year’s series visits trails on our public lands including state parks, state forests, and state game lands. Come out to get some exercise, learn about the area’s natural history, and relax in the fresh air. Hikes are free and open to the public. Well-behaved and friendly leashed dogs are welcome. TRAIL: Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails LENGTH: 5 miles TERRAIN: easiest MEET: Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails parking lot at junction of PA-93 and PA-424 in Hazleton This is an easy hike on the flat and accessible rail trail. We'll hike about 2.5 miles to the reservoir and turn around, taking time to enjoy the fall air and chat about the sights along the way. Covid-19 Precautions: -Space is limited, registration is required. For hikes with more than one date, please choose 1. -Participants must wear a mask for the duration of the hike. Hike leader will also wear a mask. We will practice social distancing. -Participants must bring their own hand sanitizer.
