Torpor, Brumation and Hibernation Hike
From bears to frogs, many of Pennsylvania’s wildlife species spend the winter in some form of hibernation. How they hibernate, and for how long, depends on the species and their habitat. During this program, we will maintain a warm body temperature while hiking to discuss the ways in which wildlife conserve energy during the winter months and learn of different physiological changes animals must undergo to survive the harsh winter conditions. Registration is required.

I will need accommodation in order to participate in this program. I recognize that if an ASL interpreter is needed, I will need to register 5 days or more in advance of the event so that the park can secure an interpreter for me.
I will notify Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center if my plans change.
