First Day Hike: White Haven to Lehigh Tannery
Description
Free. Registration required using button to right. Meet at the White Haven Access at the gate to the trail entrance located under the I-80 overpass. Join us for an easy hike on the rail trail! We'll hike south out of White Haven to Lehigh Tannery and back, a distance of about 2.5 miles. Along the way, we'll dig into some of the history of the park which stretches back to the 1800s. While the trail is relatively flat and would be suitable for a rugged stroller, it is not groomed so a snow covered or icy trail is a possibility. Please plan accordingly and wear appropriate footwear. *Well-behaved and leashed dogs who are friendly and good around kids, crowds, and other dogs are most welcome. If you would prefer a dog-free hike, the 1 PM First Day Hike at nearby Nescopeck State Park will be pet-free.
